Ohio State’s football fans saw last Saturday at the spring game that the future at quarterback is very bright, even when J.T. Barrett leaves.
But at the moment, it’s still all about the senior Barrett. Ohio State QB coach Ryan Day praised Barrett on Wednesday — and made it clear he’s the starter for next season. So forget about any controversy.
Eleven Warriors‘ Kevin Harrish reported this quote from Day.

On Jan. 4, Barrett announced he would return for a final season with the Buckeyes. As Barrett led Ohio State to the College Football Playoff, he finished the 2016 season with 2,555 passing yards and 24 touchdowns. He also rushed for 845 yards and 9 touchdowns.
Day’s announcement ends any lingering doubts, rumors or remaining controversy about the starting quarterback situation. Instead, the debate will shift to how the Buckeyes will order the backup quarterbacks. Joe Burrow, Dwayne Haskins and Tate Martell are next.
