Paul Finebaum goes after Urban Meyer, Ohio State basketball schedule released, and more
Ohio State football is the No. 1 topic in Wake Up Sloopy every day — but we cover news, notes and analysis from across Buckeyes sports. Join us each morning to get caught up on everything you missed in the world of Ohio State football, recruiting, basketball and more.
Urban Meyer … underachiever?
In whatever world Paul Finebaum resides in, it appears going 61-6 over five seasons isn’t good enough.
The longtime radio host posed the theory Wednesday that perhaps Urban Meyer should have more than one championship during his time in Columbus.
Alabama is the only team that has more than one national championship in the last five years, winning in 2012 and 2015. Florida State, Ohio State and Clemson each have one.
2 more lose black stripes
The list of Ohio State newcomers who have shed black stripes grew to seven on Wednesday.
Tackle Thayer Munford and linebacker Pete Werner both lost their stripes. Munford in particular has been talked up by Meyer this season.
Ohio State hoops schedule out
The Big Ten released Ohio State basketball’s conference schedule on Wednesday.
Because the Big Ten is playing its conference a week earlier than normal, the Buckeyes will have two conference games in early December. The Buckeyes will visit Wisconsin on Dec. 2 and host Michigan on Dec. 4, beginning conference play with a bang.
It ends strong, too, with the Buckeyes visiting Indiana in the final Big Ten game on Feb. 23.
