It’s Ohio State-Michigan week. Finally. The rivals meet next Saturday in the continuation of the heated rivalry.
If any player knows how intense it can get, it’s Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett. The senior quarterback summed up the rivalry after Ohio State crushed Illinois, 52-14.
“I don’t think it’s going to be pleasant,” Barrett said. “I’m pretty sure they’re going to hate me. You got to learn to love the hate. I like being hated sometimes. I don’t mind it. They hate us, anyway.”
Barrett has seen the Buckeyes beat Michigan every season he’s been there. In 2014, Ohio State won 42-28. In 2015, the Buckeyes won 42-13. Last year, Ohio State won, 30-27, in two overtimes.
Ohio State center Billy Price complimented Barrett’s fight when he was told about what the quarterback said.
“He’s a competitor. He’s one of the greatest competitors in college football right now. Again, go ahead, bring on the hate. It is a rivalry,” Price said.
