Kirk Herbstreit is an ESPN college football analyst. He also played quarterback for Ohio State, in case you missed that.
This can create the perception that Herbstreit is a biased homer trumpeting his alma mater at all times. So when he gave some props to Chris Holtmann and Ohio State basketball after the Buckeyes’ senior night win over Rutgers on Tuesday, a fan took the opportunity to voice his displeasure.

Herbstreit didn’t shy away.
I’m a proud alum and to be clear I am a fan like you and anyone else. And yes I’m 1000% homer for my school. Just happen to be able to be objective to a fault when evaluating CFB. Get over it!! #OldNews https://t.co/nn7e6AApIC

Even a Michigan fan in his mentions was supportive.

Previously in Kirk Herbstreit things: He walked off the ESPN set after the playoff committee selected Alabama over the Buckeyes.

“I got up and walked off,” Herbstreit explained. “And I think symbolic of what if you’re watching this and you’re just a college football fan.
“We all said, ‘Well, I think it should be Alabama, but it’s gonna be Ohio State. They’re gonna do the politically correct thing.’ Committee just made a statement.”
