Keita Bates-Diop goes to Timberwolves in second round of NBA draft
Keita Bates-Diop fell to the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft on Thursday night. The Minnesota Timberwolves took Bates-Diop with the 48th overall pick. The Big Ten Player of the Year in the 2017-18 season, Bates-Diop was projected as a first-round pick by many analysts, and his fall in the draft came as a surprise. The 6-foot-7 wing was the first Ohio State player picked in the NBA draft since D’Angelo Russell went second overall in 2015.
Urban Meyer’s Ohio State legacy secured
Urban Meyer is entering his seventh season at Ohio State and his 17th season as a college football head coach. It would not be a huge shock for the 53-year-old Meyer to step away from coaching sometime in the next decade. If he does, how will he be remembered? Land of 10’s Ryan Ginn said that Meyer’s legacy with the Buckeyes is already secure. Meyer could very well go down as the best coach in Ohio State history, Ginn writes.

Ohio State ranked fourth in Athlon Sports top 25
Athlon Sports released its rankings of all 130 FBS teams ahead of the 2018 season this week. Ohio State is the highest-ranked Big Ten team and checked in at No. 4 in the country. The Buckeyes are ranked behind Alabama, Clemson and Georgia in the rankings, but they are ahead of No. 5 Michigan, No. 9 Wisconsin, No. 11 Penn State and No. 12 Michigan State.
