Ohio State and Indiana’s prime time clash in Bloomington on Thursday signaled the return of college football for many viewers. ESPN went all out with its coverage — giving the game its “Megacast” treatment — and the game drew a lot of eyes.
ESPN’s broadcast drew a 3.6 overnight rating, the highest for a Week 1 Thursday night game in the network’s history. It also had more than 1,399,000 people stream the game at some point — “a top three regular season streaming audience ever for ESPN.”
