Ohio State coach Urban Meyer said again on Wednesday that there is no separation in the starting quarterback race.
The race is between Dwayne Haskins, Tate Martell and Joe Burrow. Earlier this month, Meyer said there is “not that separation” between the three.
Meyer brought up the lack of separation again on Wednesday. Ohio State is set for its spring game on Saturday. Ohio State’s spring game is the first public showcase for the three quarterbacks hoping to earn the starting job. The Buckeyes have to replace J.T. Barrett.
“All three are close,” Meyer said. “There are times you wish they would separate. … Some decisions are going to have to be made. But right now I can’t name a No. 1. I can’t even name a No. 3.”
Meyer said in due time, any of the three could start if needed. But that’s not yet the case.
“You have to go through summer training and training camp and all that,” Meyer said. “But with the proper development, yes.”
The Ohio State spring game has a 1:45 p.m. ET kick on Saturday, April 14.
