Urban Meyer updates Ohio State’s quarterback battle

Ohio State’s spring game is less than two weeks away but it doesn’t sound like the Buckeyes’ quarterback battle is in a much different place than it was when spring practice started. Urban Meyer gave an update on the position battle between Dwayne Haskins, Joe Burrow and Tate Martell on Monday, saying there is not much distance between the three quarterbacks.

“There’s got to be a separation at some point, and right now there is not that separation,” Meyer said. “Just when one starts going, the other one comes up, and the other one drops a little bit. And I’m talking about the three.”

Land of 10’s Austin Ward broke down Meyer’s comments and what it means for a quarterback battle that might not be decided this spring. Here’s more of what Meyer said at his Monday press conference.

Jerome Baker elaborates on weirdest question he was asked in NFL interviews

Going through the NFL draft process means you might hear some odd questions in interviews. One NFL coach tried to throw off Jerome Baker during an interview, but the former Ohio State linebacker handled the question. Baker explained to USA Today that a coach asked him what he’d do if the coach punched Baker in the face in the middle of the interview.

“To me, being from Cleveland, my natural reaction was, ‘Coach, no disrespect but if you punch me in the face, we’re gonna fight right here,’ ” Baker said.

Apparently that was the answer the coach was looking for from Baker, who is projected as a second- or third-round draft pick.
