Jake Wray commits to Ohio State

Ohio State has found another Wray. Jake Wray, a highly touted tackle in the 2020 recruiting class and the brother of 2018 Buckeyes commit Max Wray, announced his commitment to Ohio State on Monday. The 6-foot-5, 290-pound high school sophomore is the first commit in Ohio State’s 2020 class.

Land of 10’s Ryan Ginn caught up with Wray, who explained why, even early in his recruitment, he knows Ohio State is the perfect fit. Meanwhile, Land of 10 recruiting analyst Ryan Donnelly broke down what Wray’s commitment means for the Buckeyes.

RB Antonio Williams transfers to North Carolina

Ohio State’s depth at tailback took a hit as Antonio Williams revealed he was transferring from the Buckeyes to North Carolina on Monday. Williams had 290 rushing yards on 57 carries last season, but he was again going to be behind both J.K. Dobbins and Mike Weber on the 2018 depth chart. The junior will have to sit out the upcoming season before suiting up for the Tar Heels. He thanked Urban Meyer and Buckeyes running backs coach Tony Alford in his announcement.

Ohio State announces plans for Earle Bruce celebration of life ceremony

The Ohio State community will celebrate the life of former football coach Earle Bruce on Wednesday at St. John Arena. The Buckeyes announced plans for a celebration of life ceremony in Bruce’s honor. Urban Meyer and Jim Tressel are among the scheduled speakers at the ceremony, which is open to the public. Bruce, who coached Ohio State for nine seasons and won four Big Ten titles, died Friday at 87.

These are position battles Ohio State still has to sort out

You can’t learn everything in 15 spring practice. The Buckeyes still don’t know who their starting quarterback will be in the 2018 season opener, and there are a handful of other starting spots that won’t get sorted out until training camp. Here are the five position battles that Ohio State will carry through the summer.

C.J. Walker officially transfers to Buckeyes basketball

C.J. Walker’s transfer to Ohio State is official. The Buckeyes men’s basketball program announced Walker — a Florida State transfer — was joining the roster on Monday. Chris Holtmann called Walker a “strong, competitive, experienced” guard in a statement. Walker initially declared he was heading to Ohio State on April 8.
