Denzel Ward is one of the top cornerbacks in the 2018 NFL Draft class, and the former Ohio State Buckeyes star ran like one at the NFL combine on Monday morning.
Ward posted an unofficial time of 4.32 seconds in the 40-yard dash, which ties him with two other defensive backs for the fastest 40-yard dash time at the showcase this year.

Ward emerged as one of the nation’s best college cornerbacks as a junior last season. He made 37 tackles (30 solo) and had 2 interceptions. He also totaled 15 pass breakups, the fourth-highest single-season total in Ohio State history. He earned consensus first-team All-America honors for his efforts.
Now, he’s expected to be the fourth Buckeyes cornerback in the past three years to be selected in the first-round of the NFL draft. NFL Media draft expert Mike Mayock lists Ward as the top-ranked cornerback.
The NFL draft will take place April 26-28 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
