Being stronger than Joey Bosa is quite the feat. See below.
But Ohio State defensive coordinator says Bosa’s little brother Nick, a freshman defensive end for the Buckeyes, is in fact stronger than Joey.
“He’s different than his brother,” Fickell told reporters at Ohio State practice Tuesday, via 247Sports’ Steve Helwagen. “That’s not good or bad. Maybe he is an inch shorter than his brother but he’s also stronger than his brother. There is a lot of give and take there.”
Nick Bosa was the No. 8 player in the class of 2016. The Chargers took Joey third overall in the 2016 NFL Draft, though he’s still unsigned.
Nick Bosa could see the field right away, but that’s no guarantee. Fickell hopes Bosa works his way into the rotation behind Tyquan Lewis and Sam Hubbard.
“We are a long way away (from the opener). You hate to put the cart before the horse on any of those young guys. There are a lot of young guys we’ll go in and talk about and show the film where they show some flashes,” Fickell said.
“But until they put it all on and see somebody stick their face in there and make a tackle and handle the chaos and adversity we give them, we will hold our opinion as long as we can.”
