Ohio State rises in AP Top 25

After an overwhelming 56-14 win against Nebraska, Ohio State jumped up a few spots in the AP Top 25 released Sunday. The Buckeyes improved to No. 6 in the Amway Coaches Poll.

The Buckeyes stayed put in Land of 10’s Big Ten Power Poll released Sunday night, gaining votes to close the gap on No. 1 Penn State.

New bowl projections

Could Oct. 28 be the first of two meetings for Ohio State and Penn State? While incredibly unlikely, it would happen in the most recent bowl projections released by CBS Sports.

CBS has Ohio State projected to finish the season without another loss and earn the No. 2 playoff seed, with Penn State losing only to the Buckeyes and being selected as the No. 3 seed. That would make for an All-Big Ten Rose Bowl in Pasadena.

Buckeyes reach milestone

Ohio State reached an impressive milestone on Saturday in the win over Nebraska, claiming its 500th Big Ten victory. Incredibly enough, Michigan’s overtime win at Indiana also gave the Wolverines 500 Big Ten wins. It should be noted, though, that the Wolverines began playing 10 years before the Buckeyes.
