Ohio State offensive tackle Branden Bowen’s mom confirmed the worst after her son was carted off with a broken left leg during the Buckeyes’ game against Maryland.
Natalie Bowen tweeted that her son will have surgery on his tibia and fibula fractures he suffered against the Terrapins.
So hard as a mom to be across the country with my son hurt! He will have surgery to fix the tibia and fibula fractures. ❤️❤️@BrandenBowen

There’s no timetable for Bowen’s return, but he’ll miss a considerable amount of time or, most likely, the rest of the season with his left leg broken in two places.
Bowen is a redshirt sophomore who played in all 13 games in 2016 and earned the right to be the starter in 2017. With the injury Bowen suffered, he might be preparing to recover and be a starter next season.
He was carted off the field and tweeted after he was taken off the field, telling his followers, “I’ll be alright everybody.”
