Ohio State football: Billy Price is a unanimous All-American; Nick Bosa gets a tree in Buckeye Grove
Ohio State football is the No. 1 topic in Wake Up Sloopy every day — but we cover news, notes and analysis from across Buckeyes sports. Join us each morning to get caught up on everything you missed in the world of Ohio State football, recruiting, basketball and more.
An All-America sweep for Billy Price
Billy Price was named to another All-America team on Wednesday. The Ohio State center was a first-team selection by the American Football Coaches Association, making Price a unanimous All-American. Price was a first-team pick of the five major All-America teams: AFCA, The Associated Press, Sporting News, Football Writers Association of America and the Walter Camp Foundation.
He’s the third unanimous All-American for the Buckeyes in the last two seasons. Malik Hooker and Pat Elflein (who Price replaced at center) made all five teams last year. Land of 10’s Ryan Ginn has a full list of Ohio State unanimous All-Americans here.
Nick Bosa gets a tree in Buckeye Grove
Nick Bosa is getting a tree. Bosa was also a first-team All-America selection on the AFCA team — his only first-team honor of the season. With the selection, Bosa gets to be represented beside his brother Joey and dozens of other Ohio State legends in Buckeye Grove.

Ohio State-Penn State just misses being named Game of the Year
Ohio State’s thrilling win over Penn State on Oct. 28 was the best game of the year, right? Buckeyes fans would probably say so, but ESPN thinks one other contest was better. ESPN revealed its list of top 20 games of the 2017 season on Wednesday and the Buckeyes’ comeback win against the then-No. 2 Nittany Lions came in at No. 2.
The game ranked ahead of Ohio State’s 39-38 victory? Texas A&M’s comeback win over UCLA on the season’s opening weekend. We still think Ohio State’s win is worth revisiting.
A ‘tremendous’ visit with tackle target Jackson Carman
Urban Meyer was on the recruiting trail in Fairfield, Ohio, on Wednesday to meet with one of the Buckeyes top uncommitted targets, 5-star tackle Jackson Carman. Carman’s high school coach, Jason Krause, said it was a “tremendous visit.”
