MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin’s last victory over Ohio State came in 2010, when the Badgers knocked off the then-newly crowned, No. 1-ranked, Terrelle Pryor-led Buckeyes.
According to the Ohio State record books, that was the only game the Buckeyes played that year. Thanks to the tattoo scandal that ultimately cost former OSU head coach Jim Tressel his job and Pryor his eligibility, the Buckeyes’ 11 wins from the 2010 season were ultimately vacated.
With No. 8 Wisconsin set to host No. 2 Ohio State in another highly anticipated matchup between two of the Big Ten’s best, Badgers fans are doing their best to not let their Buckeye brethren forget why only one game from the 2010 campaign that still counts toward Ohio State’s record.
I’ll give it a an A for effort, but a C for creativity. On the one hand, this sign gets props for its placement, as it hangs from the roof of a fraternity house directly across from several of the entryways into Camp Randall Stadium. If you’re an Ohio State fan who made the trek to Madison this weekend, this sign is awfully hard to miss.
On the other, ‘Tatgate’ occurred more than a half-decade ago. Since Wisconsin’s 31-18 beating of the Buckeyes’ six years ago, Ohio State has won four straight against the Badgers, including a 59-0 beatdown in the 2014 Big Ten Championship Game.
Nevertheless, the Buckeyes — and their players — remain a popular target for trolling in Wisconsin this weekend.
