Ohio State’s loss to Penn State is cause for concern. But it’s not enough to forget about the Buckeyes in the title race.
During Tuesday’s College Football Live, Paul Finebaum, Desmond Howard and David Pollack debated whether Ohio State would make the College Football Playoff even though the Buckeyes are coming off a loss.
Finebaum didn’t hesitate to talk up Ohio State.
“I personally think they are going to run the table, beat Michigan, get the Big Ten Championship Game and be back in the playoffs like they were two years ago.”
Howard, the 1991 Heisman Trophy winner while at Michigan, said he strongly disagreed. Howard wondered if Finebaum had even watched Ohio State struggle the past two weeks, prompting Finebaum to say, “I didn’t go to Michigan, though” – joking that Howard would obviously defend his former team.
Howard held strong, saying Ohio State could even lose again before the Buckeyes get to face Michigan on Nov. 26.
For his part, Pollack said Ohio State is definitely not out of the title chase yet and that the Buckeyes still control their own destiny.
“There’s still everything to play for if you’re the Buckeyes,” Pollack said.
