Ohio State added a talented prospect to its 2020 recruiting class Wednesday as safety Lejond Cavazos announced his commitment to the Buckeyes.
Cavazos is a 4-star recruit and ranked as the No. 197 player and No. 10 safety in the class, according to the 247Sports composite ratings.

Cavazos plays at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., and he took an unofficial visit to Columbus in April during the Buckeyes’ spring game. He is just the second player in Ohio State’s 2020 class, joining tackle Jake Wray.
Here’s what Land of 10’s Ryan Donnelly wrote about Cavazos earlier this month:
Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy safety Lejond Cavazos is one of the best prospects in the 2020 class. With Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia and more than 20 other Power 5 programs lining up to recruit Cavazos, he has his pick of the country’s blue bloods. The Buckeyes are considered the favorites for the rising junior and I have submitted a Crystal Ball prediction for Ohio State to land Cavazos.
The Buckeyes have 12 commits in their 2019 class, which is ranked 10th in the country.
