LeBron James knows better than anyone what it’s like to be tasked with turning around a franchise in Cleveland.
As an Akron, Ohio, native and a Cleveland sports fan, James was asked about the three players the Browns selected Thursday in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. That draft list includes Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers, who was selected 25th overall.
James eventually will be rooting for Peppers, but he let his home-state Buckeyes pride shine through Friday.
James referred to Michigan as “that other school” when he brought up Peppers. He did, however, wish him the best in Cleveland.
I did not get a chance to watch any of the draft, but I know they took that player from that "other" school. I wish them the best. pic.twitter.com/PKhAwuDctR

James has a long-standing relationship with Ohio State. He attended the Buckeyes national championship game against Oregon at the end of the 2014 season, and it appears LeBron’s brand could be growing in Columbus soon.
We’re sure this won’t be the last time Peppers is teased about his maize and blue roots in Cleveland.
