Joey Bosa is still the only first-round NFL Draft pick not signed and in camp.
That’s because the Chargers haven’t yet offered a contract representative of No. 3 overall value, and the two sides haven’t communicated since July 28, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Bosa’s mom, Cheryl, wishes things had gone differently on draft day. In a Facebook comment verified by the UT, she said she wishes the Bosa camp had “pulled an Eli Manning” — refusing to play for the Chargers and requesting a trade during the draft.
San Diego took Manning No. 1 overall in 2004 knowing he didn’t want to play there. So the team traded him to the Giants for Phillip Rivers, the No. 4 pick, and a slew of other selections.

Bosa starred for three years at Ohio State before declaring for the draft. He was the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year in 2014 and an All-American in 2014 and 2015.
