Former Ohio State coach Jim Tressel didn’t miss his chance to make a joke at Michigan’s expense on Monday.
Hitting the links at William White’s golf fundraiser in Dover, Ohio, Tressel ran into former Ohio State standout James Laurinaitis, who happened to be golfing with a Michigan fan. After Tressel watched the Wolverines supporter hit his ball short on a par 3, he couldn’t resist making a crack.
“Typical Michigan, coming up short,” Tressel said, according to Laurinaitis.
The one and only @JimTressel5 at William Whites Golf Outing! I’m playing with a Michigan fan and he hit it short on a par 3. Tress says, “ typical Michigan coming up short.” Lol Go Bucks pic.twitter.com/YXthmYar5k

Tressel, who coached Laurinaitis in college, was at Ohio State from 2001-2010 and won six Big Ten titles and a national championship. Now the president of Youngstown State University, Tressel went 9-1 vs. Michigan as Ohio State’s coach.
Michigan has won just two games against Ohio State since 2001. Wolverines fans are being constantly reminded by Ohio State fans.
