Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany joined College GameDay on Saturday morning to discuss a big weekend for his conference.
And while Penn State and Wisconsin will play for the conference crown on Saturday night, the Big Ten’s most notable moment of the weekend could come Sunday afternoon when the four-team College Football Playoff field is announced.
That field should include Ohio State, despite the Buckeyes’ lack of conference title, Delany said. The commissioner said that he felt No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 Ohio State had “done enough” before Saturday and that only two spots were really up for grabs this weekend.

Delany also noted that four years ago, he was lobbying for a selection process that took four conference champions instead of the four best teams. Delany said that now the four teams that should be in the playoff are the teams that are “unequivocally among the best.”
As Penn State and Wisconsin fans watched Delany live and booed his remarks downplaying conference champions, he said, “I agreed with everyone who was booing four years ago.”
