Jake Metzer never played a down for Penn State, but now he’s trying to become Ohio State’s starting punter.
The Doylestown, Pa., native announced Monday that he will transfer to Ohio State. He can play right away with three years of eligibility remaining.

Metzer was never put on the roster by Penn State, despite spending two years there. He is rated as the No. 2 transfer punter, according to Kornblue Kicking. He likely will compete with Drue Chrisman, the top punter in the Class of 2016, to replace Cam Johnston.
