LeDee chose Ohio State from a top eight that also included Texas A&M, LSU, UCLA, Oklahoma,Houston, Iowa State, and Cal. He had long been considered a Texas A&M lean, but LeDee visited Columbus the weekend of Sept. 9, and Ohio State gained ground in his recruitment rapidly.
LeDee, a 4-star recruit, is ranked as the No. 115 overall 2018 prospect on the 247Sports composite. That system also rates him as the No. 31 small forward and eighth-best Texas player in the class. The senior at The Kinkaid School in Houston, Texas measures in at 6-foot-7, 230 pounds.
LeDee isn’t the first 2018 recruit to commit to Ohio State, but he is now the only Ohio State commit in the class. The Buckeyes lost one when 3-star SF Justin Ahrens decommitted from the school after it fired Thad Matta, and 4-star SG Dane Goodwin, who had been committed since 2014, announced his decommitment not long after. The 4-star SG Torrence Watson joined the class in June before decommitting in August.
