Greg Schiano is still Ohio State’s defensive coordinator and associate head coach as of National Signing Day, and one Buckeye doesn’t think that’s going to change.
“Coach Schiano isn’t going anywhere” early enrollee Tyreke Johnson told reporters on Wednesday.
This comes after differing accounts of Schiano’s interest in becoming the New England Patriots defensive coordinator this week. FootballScoop reported on Monday that Schiano was expected to be hired as the Patriots’ defensive coordinator, but Sports Illustrated’s Bruce Feldman reported shortly after that Schiano had not made a decision.
Johnson, a 4-star defensive back recruit, signed with Ohio State in December’s early signing period and is enrolled for the spring semester. He could contribute right away for the Buckeyes.
