Less than two months after transferring to Cincinnati, former Ohio State WR Torrance Gibson ran into Cleveland.com’s Doug Lesmerises at the NFL combine. While suiting up for coach Urban Meyer, he never played a down for the program.
When Gibson followed ex-Buckeye DC Luke Fickell to the Bearcats, he saw it as an opportunity to earn snaps at quarterback again. During his recruitment period as a senior in high school, Gibson was rated the No. 75 overall player in the 2015 class within 247Sports’ composite rankings. Then, he was listed as a 4-star dual-threat signal caller, too.
“I just the felt like it was the best move for me and my family,” Gibson told Lesmerises.
Because the Plainfield, Fla. native is reportedly working towards an associates degree at Cincinnati State, he’ll remain eligible for the upcoming campaign.
