Ezekiel Elliott was held out of Cowboys organized team activities Tuesday and Wednesday after he sustained a head injury in a minor car accident on Sunday night, the team announced.
Elliott was in the passenger seat and bumped his head during the accident, per NFL Network’s Jane Slater. Elliott did not show up to OTAs on Tuesday, and the Cowboys are being cautious with their star running back. He worked out on the side Wednesday.
The Ohio State product led the league in rushing during his rookie season, racking up 1,631 yards after Dallas took him with the No. 4 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
Elliott was involved in a minor car accident in January before the Cowboys’ playoff matchup against the Packers.
