Ezekiel Elliot is officially an NFL running back.
The former Ohio State star suffered a hamstring injury in Cowboys training camp and will miss “some time,” ESPN’s Todd Archer reports.
Elliot couldn’t finish practice on Tuesday, and Cowboys VP Stephen Jones told ESPN that the team would be conservative with him. They don’t plan on adding another running back at this time.
The Cowboys took Elliot with the No. 4 pick in this year’s draft and he’s been running with the first team in training camp.
Former Redskin Alfred Morris will likely see first-team reps in Elliot’s absence. Darren McFadden and Lance Dunbar are both on the shelf, as well.
