Former Nebraska star Ameer Abdullah’s season in the NFL is over after just two weeks.
The Detroit Lions running back was placed on injured reserve Wednesday. Abdullah left the Lions’ Sunday game against the Titans with a foot injury.

Abdullah was the Lions top running back this season after spending his rookie year as No. 2 on the depth chart. He racked up 101 yards on 18 carries and also had 57 receiving yards and a touchdown before the injury.
At Nebraska, Abdullah rushed for more than 4,500 career yards. He broke the 1,600-yard mark in both his junior (2013) and senior (2014) seasons.
