Bruce was an assistant under Woody Hayes from 1966-1971, then succeeded him as Ohio State’s head coach from 1979-1987. He played for the Buckeyes in 1951.
Bruce went 81–26–1 as Ohio State’s head coach and won four Big Ten titles.
