Curtis Samuel was no stranger to making highlights at Ohio State. He’s hoping to do the same in Charlotte.
Samuel was taken in the second round, 40th overall, by the Carolina Panthers in last week’s NFL draft. The wide receiver/running back and all-around playmaker should get some touches right away in an offense that features one of the NFL’s most electric quarterbacks, Cam Newton.
Could Samuel turn into the best offensive rookie during the 2017 season? He’ll have a decent chance, according to oddsmakers.
Samuel was given 20-1 odds to win Offensive Rookie of the Year, according to Bovada. His odds were tied for the 12th-best among all players taken in the draft. Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette had the best odds at 7-2.

A former Buckeye narrowly missed out on winning the honor last season. Despite leading the league in rushing, Ezekiel Elliott finished second in the voting to Dallas Cowboys teammate Dak Prescott.
