Alabama is the favorite in the new 2018 College Football Playoff national championship odds.
As shared by ESPN’s Brett McMurphy, Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook has the Crimson Tide at 7-2. That’s ahead of USC’s 7-1. Ohio State is the top Big Ten team at 8-1. Michigan and Penn State are also listed among the favorites, with the Wolverines at 12-1 and the Nittany Lions at 20-1.
Clemson, who beat Alabama for the 2017 CFP national title, is at 15-1. That’s a clear second in the ACC, behind rival Florida State (8-1).
Just before the title game defeat, Alabama came in at 3-1 for 2018. The gap has closed just a bit, but the Crimson Tide remain the clear favorites going into next season.
Ohio State and Michigan didn’t see their odds change from the January odds. But Penn State’s odds have changed since then, going from 30-1 to 20-1. The Nittany Lions went from unranked to start the 2016 season to winning the Big Ten title and playing in the Rose Bowl.
