COLUMBUS, Ohio — One week ago, Ohio State closed the door on the Thad Matta era. On Monday, a new era of Buckeyes men’s basketball began, as Ohio State welcomed Chris Holtmann as its 14th head coach in program history.
Three days after announcing the former Butler coach as Matta’s successor on Friday, Buckeyes athletic director Gene Smith officially introduced Holtmann on the floor of his new home court at the Schottenstein Center. Holtmann proceeded to share his vision for his new program — both on the court and on the recruiting trail.
Land of 10 was on hand to capture Holtmann’s first press conference as Ohio State’s new head coach. You can watch the entirety of his comments in the video above, as well as Buckeyes senior forward Jae’Sean Tate’s comments on Holtmann and the transition from the Matta era in the video below.
Stay tuned with Land of 10 throughout the week as we’ll have you covered on the latest from Holtmann’s hiring.
