One of Ohio State’s top remaining targets is headed to Southern California.
Bubba Bolden, a 4-star safety from Las Vegas, announced Saturday that he had chosen USC over Ohio State and Arizona State.

Bolden is the No. 55 recruit and No. 6 safety in the Class of 2017, according to 247 Sports.
Most recruiting experts expected him to commit to the Trojans, whom he had been committed to from December 2015 to July 2016, but the Buckeyes were in on him to the end. Ohio State receivers coach Zach Smith and defensive coordinator Greg Schiano led the recruiting effort for Bolden.
Three of Bolden’s Bishop Gorman teammates are already committed to Ohio State: receiver Tyjon Lindsey, quarterback Tate Martell and defensive tackle Haskell Garrett.
Though Bolden is off the board, the Buckeyes’ 2017 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 2 nationally, still includes 4-star safety Isaiah Pryor, who committed in July.
