FBS coaches voted Ohio State’s Archie Griffin the second best player in college football history after ESPN polled 97 of the 128 current head men.
Herschel Walker came in at No. 1, just ahead of the only two-time Heisman Trophy winner.

Michigan CB Charles Woodson and Nebraska C Dave Rimington and RB Johnny Rodgers also received votes.
Griffin ran for 5,589 yards and 26 touchdowns in four seasons for the Buckeyes. He ran for at least 1,450 yards in each of his last three seasons, winning the Heisman Trophy in 1974 and 1975.
Woodson and Rodgers also won the Heisman, in 1997 and 1972, respectively.
