If Trevon Grimes is going to Ohio State, Urban Meyer and his staff already know it.
The 5-star wide receiver will make his commitment public on Aug. 24 but has informed the coaches from the winning school of his decision, according to 247Sports’ Luke Stampini.
Ohio State has long been the favorite for Grimes, who plays at St. Thomas Aquinas in Florida but is from Indianapolis. Landof10’s Jeremy Birmingham wrote earlier this week that Grimes has listed the Buckeyes as his favorite for years and is expected to make his pledge to them.
Grimes is the No. 15 player and No. 3 wide receiver in the class of 2017. He holds 29 offers — Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Clemson, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, you name it.
247Sports’ crystal ball, with 36 predictions, gives Ohio State a 97 percent chance to land Grimes.
Here are Grimes’ highlights from last year.
