While a lot of things can be taken out of context these days, especially in recruiting, it’s hard to pass off certain things as a whim.
The same can be said for 5-star defensive end and Penn State commit Micah Parsons, who recently brought home a new canine companion.
The interesting part isn’t his dog, it’s what he named the pup.

That is correct. Parsons, who’s still being recruited very heavily by Ohio State, named his new pet dog after Ohio State’s mascot, Brutus the Buckeye.
Now, obviously this could lead to wild speculation and social media banter. There’s nothing concrete or meaningful at all about a Penn State commit naming his dog Brutus.
However, another one of Parsons’ tweets makes his ongoing recruitment much more interesting.

Couple those tweets with Parsons’ release of the top six schools he’s considering and Nittany Lions fans may be getting a little concerned that Ohio State could be inching closer to flipping the third-best recruit in the nation according to 247Sports.
Again, it’s only social media commentary. However, there’s no denying that it looks like Parsons is taking a liking to the Buckeyes.
