Northwestern will honor one of its most colorful alums Wednesday, when the Wildcats take the field at the Pinstripe Bowl with helmet stickers featuring the last name of late NBA sideline reporter Craig Sager.

Sager graduated Northwestern in 1973 after stints on the Wildcats’ freshman basketball team and inside the Willie the Wildcat mascot costume. He went on to spend more than 35 years at Turner Sports, becoming famous for the colorful suits he wore along the sideline.
Sager died Dec. 15 after a long battle with leukemia.
Last week, Willie the Wildcat wore a t-shirt to honor the late NBA sideline reporter during a basketball game against Dayton.
The Pinstripe Bowl, between Northwestern and Pittsburgh, will be played Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET at Yankee Stadium.
