Clayton Thorson and Cam Green won’t be suiting up for the Northwestern basketball team anytime soon.
But, inspired by Dererk Pardon’s miraculous buzzer-beater to beat Michigan on Wednesday night, the Wildcats’ quarterback and wide receiver decided to see if they could replicate ‘The Pass’ a day later.
The best part might be Pardon and Nathan Taphorn — who threw an inch-perfect pass the length of the floor — providing commentary from the sideline.
“It’s not that hard,” Taphorn said. “We did it on the first try.”

While Thorson and Green’s basketball skills might not be up to par, Northwestern hoops coach Chris Collins could have to ward off football counterpart Pat Fitzgerald this summer.
According to David Haugh of the Chicago Tribune, Pardon dreamed of playing wide receiver despite being stuck on the offensive line as a youngster. As for the senior Taphorn:
“Don’t the Bears need a quarterback?” Collins joked postgame.
The Wildcats are likely going dancing for the first time, and they’re doing it in style.
