Northwestern entered Kinnick Stadium a two-score underdog, but the Wildcats left Iowa City victorious.
Sophomore Trae Williams’ pick in the closing seconds sealed the win for Pat Fitzgerald’s team, which moved to 2-3 on the season with a 38-31 win against Iowa.
Though Williams’ interception clinched the victory, several Wildcats played pivotal roles in the win. Justin Jackson, a junior RB, rushed for 171 yards and an impressive score. He eclipsed 3,000 career rushing yards on the day, too.
Ifeadi Odenigbo was all over Iowa QB C.J. Beathard, racking up four sacks.
And wide receiver Austin Carr couldn’t be kept out of the endzone, catching six passes—three of which went for scores.
The Wildcats head to East Lansing next week to play Michigan State.
