The Northwestern community received tragic news Monday when 19-year-old Jordan Hankins, a women’s basketball player, was found dead on campus.
A day later, details are emerging about her death. According to the Daily Northwestern, Hankins’ death was ruled a suicide by a medical examiner. She was found dead in her room at the Foster-Walker Complex, the report said.
“Jordan was a remarkably dynamic young woman,” Northwestern coach Joe McKeown said in a Monday statement. “This is a devastating loss for our basketball family. She brought an unwavering intensity and commitment to everything in her life. We will miss her enormously.”
Hankins’ younger brother, Jared, Tweeted a message about his sister on Tuesday.
