Recruiting is a year-round job.
And for Northwestern, Saturday night proved just that. It may be June 9, but the Wildcats’ 2019 class received a boost.
Michael Jansey, a 3-star outside linebacker prospect — according to 247Sports — made his decision known via social media.

As Jansey mentioned in his tweet, he is homegrown. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound recruit is from Batavia, Ill. He ranks as the No. 53 OLB in his class and the No. 9 player in the state of Illinois.
Jansey has 17 scholarship offers, including Purdue and Rutgers from the Big Ten. With his verbal commitment, Northwestern’s 2019 class now ranks No. 25 nationally and No. 7 in the Big Ten.
He is the Wildcats’ 13th verbal commitment and second OLB, joining Bryce Gallagher. Northwestern’s class now consists of 12 3-star recruits and one unranked recruit.
