Rapolas Ivanauskas’ freshman season will have to wait another season.
Northwestern announced Monday that the 6-foot-9, 210-pound forward will miss the entire upcoming season with a shoulder injury that will require surgery.
“We’re disappointed for Rapolas as he’s worked extremely hard this summer alongside his teammates,” Northwestern coach Chris Collins said in a news release from the school. “I know that he will attack his rehab with the same attitude and energy that he has on the court. We expect a full recovery in 4-6 months, and look forward to a very bright future with the Wildcats.”
Ivanauskas was a 3-star recruit according to 247 Composite rankings, the No. 4 recruit in the state of Illinois for the 2016 class. He played three seasons at Barrington High School in his hometown before attending Brewster Academy in New Hampshire for his senior year.
