The 2017 Music City Bowl will be on Fri., Dec. 30 at 4:30 p.m. ET at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
Northwestern finished the season with a 9-3 mark after losing three of its first five games. Pat Fitzgerald’s team heads into bowl season on a seven-game winning streak and a chance for the program’s third 10-win season since 2012. Northwestern is looking for its second straight win in a bowl game. The team beat Pitt to win the Pinstripe Bowl last season.
Kentucky, meanwhile, enters the Music City Bowl with a 7-5 record and a 4-4 mark in the SEC. The Wildcats enter bowl season on a two-game losing streak as they closed out the regular season with back-to-back losses against Georgia and Louisville.
Kentucky and Northwestern have met one time on the gridiron — a 7-0 Northwestern win in 1928.
