Miller Kopp, a 4-star small forward recruit in the Class of 2018, announced his commitment to Northwestern on Thursday.

Kopp is Northwestern’s fourth verbal commit for 2018, joining 4-star PF Pete Nance, 3-star PG Jordan Lathon and unranked PF Ryan Young. He ranks as the No. 97 overall recruit, 24th-best small forward and fifth-best Texas recruit in the class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He is a senior at Houston Christian High School, and measures as 6-foot-6 and 200 pounds. Kopp chose Northwestern from a top six of Michigan, Georgetown, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt and Butler.
Kopp’s commitment gives Northwestern the seventh-highest rated recruiting class in the country on 247Sports’ class calculator. That’s one spot above Duke, but still behind Michigan State and Indiana. Early recruiting rankings aren’t great at predicting what the final classes will look like (for example: Kentucky doesn’t have any commits yet. That’s going to change), but this is fun to note nonetheless.
