O’Rourke is considered the No. 199 overall recruit in the 2018 class by 247Sports, the ninth-best strong-side defensive end and the best recruit in Illinois. His recruitment had a heavy Big Ten flavor, as he also held offers from Penn State, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Indiana, Purdue, Minnesota and Illinois.
O’Rourke, a 6-foot-6, 240-pound recruit from Frankfort, Ill. (a Chicago suburb), visited Northwestern last weekend. O’Rourke is the sixth verbal commit in Pat Fitzgerald’s 2018 class, which is currently ranked 24th in the nation and sixth in the Big Ten.
