Here is McDonald’s full statement:
After discussing with my family, I feel like the best decision for me and my future is to commit to THE Northwestern University! I would like to also thank the other universities for offering the chance to be apart of their football team and family. GO WILDCATS! #B1GCats
McDonald had interest from more than a dozen schools, with 11 offers in addition to Northwestern. The 6-foot-3, 187-pound defensive back is a 3-star prospect and rated the No. 38 safety in the 2018 class and the No. 22 player in Louisiana, according to 247Sports.
McDonald becomes the third defensive back — but first safety — in Northwestern’s 2018 class, currently ranked No. 6 in the nation and No. 2 in the Big Ten by 247Sports.
