Smarter than before

Junior wide receiver Stanley Morgan Jr. felt he was a “little wild animal” as a freshman. Two years later, he has grown and become a smarter player both on and off the field.

A big honor

Eight former Huskers will have their jerseys retired at Nebraska’s home opener on Sept. 2. Seventeen players have already had their Nebraska jerseys retired. Those being honored are Guy Chamberlin, Ed Weir, Clarence Swanson, George Sauer, Sam Francis, Forrest Behm, Bobby Reynolds and Wayne Meylan.

Change of heart

Orlando Sentinel columnist Mike Bianchi once though Tom Osborne was a win-at-all-costs coach when it came to Lawrence Phillips. Two decades later, he’s changed his mind about the legendary coach.

A breakout star

The Tanner Lee hype train continues down the tracks. This time, it’s Bruce Feldman of Sports Illustrated impressed with the quarterback. He even predicted Lee to be college football’s biggest “breakout star” of the season.

In the middle

Nebraska’s Cole Conrad has won the starting center spot for the 2017 season after walking on to the team. He hopes his rise to starter will inspire other walk-ons.

Got skills?

Nebraska golfer Audrey Judd does and she showed them off during a recent photo shoot. Impressive work.
