Johnson committed to Arizona in March 2016. He has not taken another visit since that commitment, so his visit to Lincoln is massive for Nebraska.
Johnson, a 4-star prospect, plays running back, wide receiver and corner at Hawkins High School in Los Angeles. He has a nose for the end zone and breakaway speed.
Johnson has 27 offers, including from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Notre Dame, Michigan, Tennessee, USC, UCLA and Colorado.
Recruiting on the road
Some Nebraska coaches stopped by Center Grove High School’s game on Friday night before heading to Bloomington, Ind., it seems.
Russ Yeast, a 3-star WR/CB from Greenwood, Ind., told 247sports Nebraska offered him a scholarship over the weekend.
Yeast is the No. 42 corner in the 2017 class and No. 4 recruit from Indiana. He has 19 offers, among them Louisville, Auburn, Iowa, Ole Miss, Kentucky and now Nebraska.
He officially visited Auburn on Sept. 3, Iowa on Sept. 10 and unofficially visited Louisville on Sept. 17.
Another 2018 offer
Nebraska is also doing some legwork on the 2018 class.
Nebraska offered 2018 athlete Jermaine Eskridge over the weekend. Eskridge is a 4-star athlete from Tampa, Fla,. He’s the No. 10 athlete in the class.

Cal commit wants to see Lincoln
Another 4-star receiver from California is interested in the Huskers.
Taariq Johnson, a 6-foot-2, 213-pound receiver from Buena Park, Calif., will be in Lincoln this weekend for the Purdue game, he told 247sports.
Johnson is the No. 39 receiver in the 2017 class and No. 31 recruit in California.
