Nebraska’s midseason slump continued on Sunday with an 81-70 loss at Iowa.
Coach Tim Miles and his team have now lost seven of their last eight games. The Huskers drop to 10-13 on the season and 4-7 in Big Ten play.
Who starred for Nebraska
Nebraska forward Jack McVeigh had quite a first half on Sunday. He did cool off later, though.
The sophomore shot 7 of 12 from the floor and 2 of 6 from 3-point land, finishing with 16 points and two assists.
Senior guard Tai Webster finished with 14 points on 6-for-18 shooting. He’s scored in double digits in 24 straight games, dating back to last season. Webster also had six rebounds and six assists.
Freshman Jordy Tshimanga also continued his hot streak, scoring 10 points on 4-for-6 shooting and snagging eight rebounds. He did, however, deal with foul trouble most of the game and fouled out late in the second half.
Who stumbled for Nebraska
Sophomore guard Glynn Watson Jr. did not start on Sunday because of a groin injury. He did play 18 minutes, though, and finished with three points on 0-for-4 shooting. He also had four rebounds and an assist.
Nebraska struggled down the stretch. The Huskers went on a two minute scoring drought after the under four-minute timeout, while Iowa pulled away.
Who is next for Nebraska
Nebraska will host No. 10 Wisconsin at home on Thursday. Wisconsin is 20-3 on the season and 9-1 in conference play on the season. The Badgers beat Indiana on Sunday, 65-60.
