Just two years after he was drafted in the second round, Randy Gregory’s NFL career reportedly is in jeopardy.
The former Nebraska star has failed his seventh drug test since entering the league, according to TMZ Sports. The Dallas Cowboys defensive end has already been suspended for the entire 2017 season due to previous failed tests.
From the TMZ Sports report:
TMZ Sports spoke with multiple people with direct knowledge of the situation who confirmed Randy was tested on Feb. 21 and was informed on March 2 that his specimen came up positive for weed.
We’re told Gregory has since blown off the NFL officials who tried to discuss the situation with him and people connected to Gregory tell us it appears his NFL career might be over.
Gregory appeared in 14 games since joining the Cowboys two seasons ago, 12 of which came during the 2015 campaign. At Nebraska, Gregory recorded 16.5 sacks and 119 tackles in two seasons. He went 60th overall to the Cowboys in the 2015 NFL Draft.
